Small-batch wine, grown with a long view of the land that makes it possible.
We farm 18 hectares in the Murrumbateman wine district the way we'd want to hand it on: dry-grown, chemical-light, and shared — with our animals, our neighbours, and the people who visit us. This is a living commitment, reviewed and renewed every year.
Environmental
Dry-grown vines, watered only from our own rain tanks and farm dams — no licensed water source drawn on
No insecticides: pest control through insectariums and beneficial-insect habitat
Babydoll sheep provide chemical-free weed control and improve soil health
Our 32kW solar system powers daytime cellar door and winery operations and charges our e-bike fleet — saving an estimated 123kg of CO₂ emissions since installation in 2022
Ongoing farm dam restoration protects habitat for fish, frogs, turtles and waterbirds
Social
80% of our suppliers and services are sourced locally, from Canberra and the region
Active members of Makers of Murrumbateman, the Yass Valley Business Chamber and the Canberra District Wine Industry Association
Partnering with Murrumbateman Landcare on native tree planting and habitat restoration
E-bike hire is designed to send visitors on to neighbouring producers, not keep them at our gate alone
Fierce advocates for rural tourism — we champion Murrumbateman and the Canberra wine region, not just our own business, through regional promotional campaigns and engagement with local, state and federal government and media
Cultural
We acknowledge the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples, Traditional Custodians of this land, at our cellar door and every event we host
We look forward to a future First Nations cultural heritage assessment of our property
Our 1978 vines — among the earliest plantings in the modern Canberra District — are preserved, not replaced
Every visit shares a genuine story of rural life and farming heritage
