    Description

Re-released for Christmas from our private cellar stock, only available till 24th December or while stocks last.

Although often dubbed as a blending partner for Cabernet (particularly in Australia), Merlot deserves recognition in its own right. This is evident in the distinctive Merlots produced in California and Bordeaux but Australia has been slower to recognise the merits of this delicious grape. The name Merlot is said to derive from merle—the French word for the blackbird, likely a reference to the colour of the grape.

The grapes were selectively hand-picked, gently crushed and fermented with the skins in open-vat fermenters with daily hand plunging to extract colour, tannins and flavours. The wine was then gently basket pressed to older French oak barrels – as we try to minimise the amount of oak character in our Merlot so as to let the fruit flavours shine through.

Re-released for Christmas from our private cellar stock, only available till 24th December or while stocks last. A delicious fruit dominated wine, with an aroma reminiscent of lavender, cherries and a hint of dark chocolate. Soft tannins and sweet rich fruits on the palate—think cherries, raspberries and plums. A velvety smooth easy-drinking wine. Available for tasting from 10-12 November 2023.

    Limited stock.
