Semi-sweet Riesling

Semi-sweet Riesling

2023 Riesling

Canberra District, New South Wales

Our second year making this slightly sweeter Riesling style, this time from pristine Murrumbateman fruit. Delicious aromas of sweet apricots & fragrant honeysuckle. A fusion of luscious golden peaches, mouthwatering pineapple, tangy lime cordial and a lively crisp dry finish. 18g residual sugar. Highly awarded to date with Trophy, 2 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronze awards at national and international wine shows.

    Description

A wine inspired by the delightful and sweeter German Riesling style, renowned for its perfect sugar/acid balance.

The grapes for this exquisite wine were sourced from the Four Winds vineyard in Murrumbateman, which is only a kilometre away from our own vineyard – as the crow flies.

The cooler vintage provided the ideal conditions for crafting this sweeter Riesling style. Acidity levels remained high as the fruit ripened. This vibrant acidity beautifully complemented a touch of residual sugar, carefully achieved by blending in a small amount of grape juice after fermentation. Fermented in stainless steel with a cultured yeast, our focus was on preserving varietal purity and freshness.
