Made from our 40+ year old estate vines. A lovely low alcohol year – this wine embodies the classic Canberra style with its crisp notes of green apple, tangy lime cordial, and distinct flinty undertones. Serve with oysters, sushi, sashimi, fresh seafood, creamy chicken.
Description
As the daughter of renowned Riesling maker, Ken Helm, it is no surprise that Stephanie is also passionate about making her own Riesling style. Made from the Vintner’s Daughter estate 40+ year old vines all vintages of this wine, since its inception in 2015, have been highly awarded by critics and wine shows. This wine was produced exclusively from mature Estate Riesling vines which were planted in 1978 and are thriving in our rich volcanic basalt derived soils.
The extended ripening period in 2023 contributed to an abundance of cool-climate flavours, evoking memories of the 90s in the region (my childhood!). These wines boast a plethora of textural flavors, such as crunchy green apple, puckering lemon, and fragrant lime. Remarkably, we were able to maintain high acidity levels while achieving optimal sugar levels—a distinctive characteristic of wines produced in cooler climates.
